Step 1: Preparation is key. Exfoliate the body thoroughly whilst showering. Make sure to rinse any lotions or deodorants from the skin as this will effect the absorption of the tanner. Exfoliating is only necessary with your first application, however you will want to repeat this process once tan begins to fade or go patchy after a week or so.
HOT TIP: A tan only stays perfect the less your skin sheds. This can vary from person to person and thats why oils are highly recommended as tan extenders. Being a gradual tanner and of course ultra nourishing, you will enjoy longer periods of not having to exfoliate. The less shedding, the longer the tan stays perfect! Once the new layer of skin starts to emerge, that is generally when your tan begins to go patchy so this is when the process is to be repeated.
Step 2: Start at the bottom of your legs and work in sections. You can use a tanning mitt or just your hands. It is important to take particular care with your application as the lotion is invisible. Use a consistent amount of pumps per section as this will keep the tone even across the body. Finish application on the face, feet then hands. It's important to use less product on these areas as they tend to be more absorbent.
HOT TIP: When tanning your hands start by thoroughly rinsing them with soap. If you don't own a tanning mitt you can use paper towel to carefully apply the tan to the backs of the hands making your way to the tips of the fingers. Try not to get too much product on the inner palms but still coverage on the sides of hands and fingers. Lastly, use the left over product on the towel to rub around the inner wrist area. You can also use a small amount of moisturiser on the inner palms to soften any tan that may have gotten on your hands.
Step 3: Allow to set for 3 minutes before dressing to avoid residue lifting and possibly effecting the evenness of the overall tan.You can use a blow dryer to fasten the drying process and help set the lotion.
Avoid contact to eye area, if irritation occurs please discontinue use.
